Abstract

AOAC INTERNATIONAL hosted a free virtual forum to explore directions for a new AOAC initiative focused on botanical identity verification. The virtual forum focused on various topics related to botanical identity testing, such as the difference between identity and authenticity from a regulatory perspective, the definition of "identity", or method challenges for finished products and mixtures. Presentations were given by Holly Johnson (AHPA), Cris Amarillas (Eurofins), and Paula Brown (British Columbia Institutes of Technology) followed by an open discussion.
